Our goal is to bridge the gap between politics and parenting and unite the parent community in our region for the benefit of our children's future.
Our organization brings parents together through the common mission of advocating for the well-being of our children. Our members have students at private, public and parochial schools. We provide information and educational opportunities for parents to become informed in order to have courageous conversations about tough topics. We encourage critical thinking and acceptance of all ideas and philosophies, supported by the belief that it is a parent's job to teach values to their children, not schools or the government.

MARIJUANA ON THE MISSOURI BALLOT
NOVEMBER 2022
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Medical marijuana was legalized in Missouri when voters approved of Amendment 2 in 2018. Amendment 2 legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes, taxed marijuana sales at 4%, and spent tax revenue on healthcare services for veterans. Prior to 2018, medical marijuana was not legalized for use or possession in Missouri. For recreational marijuana, the possession of 10 grams or less of cannabis has been decriminalized. Possession of 10 grams or less is punishable by a fine only, but the offense remains a criminal misdemeanor. Recreational marijuana is not legal in Missouri.

This Amendment would legalize the purchase, possession, consumption, use, delivery, manufacturing, and sale of marijuana for personal use for persons who are 21 years old or older; allow individuals convicted of non-violent marijuana-related offenses to petition to be released from incarceration and/or have their records expunged; and impose a 6% tax on the sale of marijuana.

Voters should look closely at Colorado and other states where drug abuse skyrocketed after recreational marijuana was approved. Colorado state and city governments now spend millions more dealing with increased homelessness, auto accidents and other ramifications from the legalization of pot, the decriminalization and the increase of black market sales.

We are a volunteer organization that operates almost entirely from members' donated time and funds. While we do not have many expenses, there are a few services and items we cannot get donated, such as our website, postage and various purchased communication outlets. We have plans to grow our reach and function to offer more support and advocacy for long term sustainability. We are 100% transparent with our expenses and are always available to speak with potential donors.
